Cheese Fact
Do you know how cheese making was first discovered?
Well, legend goes that somewhere around 8000 BC, an Arab Trader, whilst storing his milk in a container made from the stomach of an animal, accidentally discovered that the milk he had been carrying had turned to cheese after a long hot journey across the desert. The natural rennet found in the stomach lining of animals had turned the milk into curds and whey. Delicious!
Date and Nut Loaf Recipe
Bronwyn’s tasty loaf will keep you warm this Autumn. Be sure to spread with some of our luscious French butter from the Larder. Bake anytime and enjoy!

5g bi-carb soda
175g Medjool dates (chopped)
60g butter

150g pecans (chopped)

3. Fold together the creamed butter and sugar mixture with the date paste then add the flour, baking powder and pecans. Ensure the mixture is well combined.
4. Line a loaf tin with baking paper and fill with the loaf mixture. Smooth the top over with a small knife.

We may live without poetry, music and art;
We may live without conscience, and live without heart;
We may live without friends, we may live without books;
But civilized man cannot live without cooks.
